Elizabeth Zamora-Mejia

Elizabeth Zamora-Mejia represents public school districts, county offices of education, community colleges and universities in all aspects of labor and employment law and general education litigation. Ms. Zamora-Mejia focuses on education law, providing advice and counsel on personnel matters, student issues, and all forms of discrimination and harassment claims. Ms. Zamora-Mejia provides representation on numerous school and employment matters, including hiring, employee evaluations, discipline and dismissal, student rights and discipline, reasonable accommodation, release of public records, contract grievances and arbitration, defending school districts against discrimination claims, and compliance with federal and state civil rights laws. Ms. Zamora-Mejia’s state-wide practice also includes conducting workplace investigations of complaints of discrimination, harassment and retaliation, including Office of Civil Rights uniform complaints. She also has extensive experience conducting Title IX investigations for both K-12 school districts and higher education institutions. Ms. Zamora-Mejia is also the team leader for the investigations team in the Cerritos office. Ms. Zamora-Mejia is the Chair of AALRR’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and the Women’s Leadership Committee. She regularly presents at conferences for state-wide educational organizations, including the ACSA Women in School Leadership Conference, California School Board Association (CSBA), the California Latino School Boards Association (CLSBA), and the California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators (CALSA).
