About Elizabeth Diaz
Managing Attorney for the Family Violence Prevention and Immigration (FVPI) program at the Legal Aid Foundation of Santa Barbara County, focusing her practice primarily on restraining orders and other related family law and civil matters for victims of domestic violence, elder abuse, sexual abuse, and Human Trafficking. Under the managing attorney role, she supervises two attorneys and support staff working in the countywide FVPI program. Elizabeth has an additional role, she is a Legal Director at Legal Aid, which includes overseeing and providing guidance to supervising attorneys of the organization’s different departments. Elizabeth was born and raised in Santa Barbara; Spanish was her first language. Elizabeth attended Santa Barbara City College and earned her BA in Law and Society at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her JD from Santa Barbara College of Law. Elizabeth was named 2017 Santa Barbara Women Lawyers Attorney of the Year. She was the Santa Barbara County Bar Association President in 2020 and 2021, where she led the organization and formed a Diversity and Inclusion Task Force that focused on promoting and encouraging diversity in the local legal community.
