About Dylan Ruga
As a trial lawyer and legal tech entrepreneur, I've dedicated my career to advancing the practice and business of law. I currently serve as Co-Founder, President, and Chief Legal Officer of Steno, where we're modernizing court reporting and legal support services. I also lead Stalwart Law Group, which is recognized among California's top 20 litigation boutiques. My journey began in the courtroom, where years of complex litigation revealed opportunities to improve the delivery of legal services. At Stalwart, I focus on high-stakes intellectual property, professional liability, and commercial litigation matters. I'm honored to be certified by the State Bar of California as a specialist in legal malpractice law—a distinction shared by less than 0.1% of Los Angeles County attorneys—and to have been recognized as a Southern California "Super Lawyer" every year since 2009. At Steno, we're reimagining court reporting for the modern era, combining technological innovation with exceptional service. Our mission is simple: create solutions that actually solve the real challenges law firms face daily, from seamless scheduling to innovative financing options. Drawing from my experience trying cases and running a litigation practice, I understand both sides of the legal services equation. This unique perspective drives our approach at both organizations, whether developing cutting-edge legal support services at Steno or securing multimillion-dollar verdicts at Stalwart. UCLA Law School graduate (top 10%), former federal judicial clerk, and occasionally decent golfer. You'll find me cheering on the San Francisco 49ers with my wife and two children when not in the office or courtroom.
