About Derick Albers
As a former licensed CPA, I represent and advise banks, financial services companies, trust companies, private equity and debt funds, insurers, and other clients on a range of litigation and corporate issues. My litigation practice focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation, banking litigation, insurance litigation (including coverage disputes), trust and estate litigation, fiduciary litigation, real estate, shareholder disputes, and employment litigation. I have successfully defended banks and other companies in “bet the company” litigation. In my first year of practice, I worked with a team of lawyers to secure a record-setting $60 million verdict on behalf of a nonprofit health clinic. Prior to law school, I practiced as a Certified Public Accountant at a Big Four accounting firm, focusing on tax consulting for individuals, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and other entities.
