I am a Partner a Hinman, Howard and Kattell, LLP. I primarily counsel employers of all sizes in all aspects of labor and employment law. I also counsel health care entities with compliance related matters. I assist businesses of all sizes with drafting employee handbooks, employment agreements and severance agreements. I counsel employers on conducting employment related investigations, and have conducted such investigations when requested by my clients. I also regularly advise employers on issues relating to hiring, discipline and termination of employees, including WARN issues. I frequently speak on these issues to clients, human resources professional groups, and Chamber groups, and regularly write for the HH&K newsletter and blog and for other publications. I represent employers before administrative bodies, including the Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division (federal and state), New YOrk Division of Human Rights, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, and Occupational Health and Safety Administration. I also litigate employment related cases in state and federal courts. In addition to my employment related work, I work with health care and health care related entities (hospitals, long term care facilities, physician groups, medical spas) to structure physician compensation agreements, handle corporate practice of medicine issues, and ensure compliance with federal and state privacy laws.
