About David Swerdloff

David Swerdloff retired on January 1, 2026, after 46 years as a corporate attorney with the firm Day Pitney LLP, formerly Day, Berry & Howard. As an attorney, David advised clients on mergers and acquisitions and on general corporate matters. He negotiated, documented and closed transactions of all sizes, ranging into the hundreds of millions of dollars. Representative industries included defense, medical instruments, food services, technology, public utility and real estate companies. He also advised on issues involving the governance of pass-through entities (partnerships, joint ventures and LLCs), the rights of minority owners and management succession planning. He helped to draft the Connecticut laws on limited partnerships and LLCs. David served as chair of the Connecticut Bar Association's Business Law Committee and as president of the Fairfield County Regional Bar Association. David spoke and wrote frequently on topics of interest to emerging companies and on mergers and acquisitions. He also served six years as chair of the Business Law Department at Day Berry & Howard and Day Pitney.
