About David Schmit
Mr. Schmit is currently engaged in litigating or otherwise resolving workers' compensation actions, counseling employers in discipline and termination issues and managing a law firm. In conjunction with his practice he has lectured state wide on workers compensation and health issues. My interest in health issues goes back to when I worked as a staff member for the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports 1969-1973. There we regularly put on clinics promoting health benefits of an active lifestyle. At that time I did the staff work to develop the President's Sports Award. Other areas of practice have included criminal law trials, personal injury litigation, defense of wrongful termination actions, Indian law, Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act and maritime personal injury.
