Our firm exclusively represents employers in all facets of the employer-employee relationship, including employment litigation, union/labor relations, human resources consulting, employee benefits, and immigration. We partner with business owners, executives, HR professionals, and in-house attorneys to minimize employment-related legal risks and, more importantly, to help our clients achieve their business goals. We partner with our clients on the gambit of labor and employment laws, including the FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, the NLRA, and other federal, state and local laws, including: • Representing employers in employment litigation, including class, collective, and individual wage and hour cases and single plaintiff discrimination and wrongful discharge claims; • Representing employers in charges before EEOC, IDHR, IDOL, and other agencies; • Advising on wage and hour compliance; • Advising on hiring, discipline, discharge, layoffs, and severances to minimize risk; • Advising on leaves of absences and disability accommodations and minimizing undue burdens on business operations; • Conducting investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment and workplace misconduct, as well as employment practice audits; • Drafting employee handbooks, policies, employment contract, and noncompete and nonsolicitiation agreements; • Training managers and supervisors regarding discrimination, harassment, ADA and FMLA compliance, and union avoidance strategies; • Responding to union organizing campaigns, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, and representing employers in discharge, layoff and contract interpretation grievance and arbitration proceedings and unfair labor practice charges before the NLRB; • Advising on health insurance plans, executive compensation plans, employee retirement plans, stock option plans, and multi-employer Taft-Hartley funds; • Sponsoring foreign nationals for temporary work visas and/or permanent residency.
