David Holmes

David Holmes is the regional managing partner of Wilson Elser’s Chicago office. He has a diverse civil litigation practice that encompasses employment law, commercial litigation, professional liability, toxic tort, product liability and insurance coverage claims. A wide variety of corporations, both large and small, have called on David to provide an effective defense in discrimination, wrongful termination, FMLA, FLSA and other employment-related claims. He has experience in state and federal courts and before the EEOC, DOL, OSHA, HUD, and state agencies. He also counsels companies on effective employment strategies on a wide variety of issues. David has successary tried cases in state and federal courts and has successfully argued appeals in the Illinois Appellate Court, the Illinois Supreme Court, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He has won numerous motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment on behalf of his clients. In defending product liability and toxic tort cases, he has particular experience defending claims involving industrial machinery injuries, consumer appliance fire losses, recreational vehicle accidents, and asbestos exposure from automobile components. David’s practice also encompasses the defense of architects and engineers and insurance agents and brokers in professional liability cases, as well as insurance coverage matters involving all types of policies.
