About David Converse

David J. Converse was born in Chico, California. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame in 1999 with a Bachelors of Arts in Government. He also completed Notre Dame’s Arts and Letters Pre-Professional Program, which is one of the two Pre-med programs at the University. Mr. Converse received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 2002 and is a member of the Davis Law School chapter of the Order of the Coif. Mr. Converse was admitted to the California State Bar and U.S. Eastern District Court in 2002. He started working in the field of Workers’ Compensation defense in May, 2001 as a law clerk with Cuneo, Black, Ward & Missler (CBWM) before being sworn in as an attorney. He continued to work for CBWM as a defense attorney handling workers' compensation cases after being sworn in as an attorney and until February 2008. On February 8, 2008 Mr. Converse joined with Bert Andersson to form Andersson | Converse, LLP, a small boutique Workers' Compensation Defense firm. For over 11 years, Mr. Converse continued to represent government agencies, self-insured employers, and insurance carriers before the WCAB. This was followed by nearly 6 additional years as a workers' compensation defense attorney with Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith. On May 1, 2025, Mr. Converse was sworn in as a Workers' Compensation Judge at the Lodi WCAB.
