Damon Baxley

Attorney Damon Baxley is a fifth-generation native of Marion County, Florida, and the third son of Senator Dennis and Ginette Baxley’s five children. He is married to his high school sweetheart, and they have two children. He attended Marion County schools and graduated with honors from Belleview High School. Damon Baxley earned his undergraduate degree from Carson-Newman College with double majors in Religion and Philosophy/Religion and a minor in Psychology. Damon Baxley served sixteen years as a law enforcement officer. He gained experience as a Patrol Officer, acting Patrol Sergeant, and a SWAT Team Grenadier (less-lethal munitions specialist). He was an Honor Guard member, Property Crimes Detective, Special Victims Detective (investigating crimes of sexual violence and child abuse), and Robbery/Homicide Detective. Damon Baxley earned numerous awards and unit citations throughout his career. While working in law enforcement, he earned a Master’s of Public Administration Degree from Barry University. During thousands of investigations over 16 years, Damon Baxley repeatedly witnessed how traumatic events financially impacted victims of crime and those injured due to the negligence of others. Intending to help victims pursue justice, he set aside his law enforcement career to attend law school. Damon Baxley obtained his law degree from Western Michigan University’s Cooley Law School, receiving multiple Certificates of Merit (highest grade in the class). He served as a Teaching Assistant in Property II and Secured Transactions and graduated Magna Cum Laude (high honors). Damon Baxley served as a Certified Legal Intern with the State Attorney’s Office of the Fifth Judicial Circuit before joining the King Law Firm. He accepted a position at the King Law Firm because of its client-centered approach and willingness to fight for the rights and interests of clients.
