About Corey Hanrahan
As a full-time employment law mediator, I help employees, employers, and their counsel reach Closure with clarity and confidence, avoiding the uncertainty, cost, and emotional toll of trial. I bring a perspective to the mediation room that most mediators simply cannot. With nearly two decades as a plaintiff-side employment litigator and trial attorney, I have tried numerous cases to verdict and been recognized annually as a Super Lawyer since 2021. I saw firsthand that while litigation can win battles, mediation wins peace. But getting there requires more than process. Employment disputes are deeply personal. The people in that room aren't just parties. They're human beings carrying real grievances, real fear, and real stakes. My job is to lower the temperature before anything else. When people feel heard, when the emotional static quiets, when the room finally exhales, that's when smart decisions get made and real resolution becomes possible. My mediation style is practical, evaluative, and solutions-focused. I draw on deep legal knowledge and genuine courtroom experience to give both sides a realistic picture of what comes next if they walk out without a deal. That honesty, delivered in the right environment, is what moves cases forward. Outside the mediation room, I'm a plant-based distance runner and community advocate. I've completed the Boston Marathon four times as a charity runner for The Hoyt Foundation, earned multiple top-100 finishes in half marathons, and placed 13th overall in the 2025 Maui Oceanfront Half Marathon. I also co-founded Team Hoyt San Diego, a nonprofit empowering individuals with disabilities to experience athletic inclusion through running and triathlon events. I served as President from 2013 to 2021 and continue to support the organization through board service and actively participating in races, including completing the 2018 Los Angeles Marathon as part of a duo team with a disabled athlete. Closure isn't just what I help clients find. It's what I built my practice around.
