Clayton Dowd

My life has been about teamwork, development, and learning. As a trusted leader and successful Officer in the United States Special Operations community, I have been recognized for my ability to impact organizations and the people around me. I strive to develop the people around me so that they can reach their potential and achieve their goals. I am a father and a Husband first, which is very important to who I am because, without them, I would not be who I am or able to do the things I do. I grew up playing sports and was able to attend college on a football scholarship. Teamwork and being a part of something bigger than yourself have always been important to me, and it made my transition into the military easy. Learning how people from all walks of life can succeed in any situation, developing others into leaders, and learning more about myself and my profession daily was immensely gratifying. I am an individual who recognizes that each member of a team brings talents, skills, and experiences that can be used toward a common goal. I perform my best when held to a high standard and feel a deep sense of accomplishment when completing a task. When working as part of a team, I can put aside my personal thoughts for the group's betterment. I strive to recognize others' accomplishments and progress when deserved and approach my decision-making from a rational and evidence-based perspective. I can come off as very businesslike and introverted, but I make a point to speak with new people and help where needed. I have developed a deep love for computers, machine learning, and AI, and I seek opportunities to continue to learn more about them.
