About Cindy Wood
I have been a licensed CPA in the state of Utah for over 34 years. In November 2025, I was elected to the West Valley City Council as a Councilmember representing District 4. I began my service on the West Valley City Council in January 2025, when I was selected complete the remaining term of the previous Councilmember. I'm honored for the the opportunity to represent the residents of West Valley City - District 4. Prior to January 2025, I served as a Planning Commissioner for West Valley City since 2017. I was employed in the legal services industry for over 23 years. I recently retired from my position at Workman Nydegger as Controller of the firm. Previously, I was Accounting Manager/Controller and Administrative Director at Clyde Snow and at Prince, Yeates & Geldzahler. My responsibilities with the firm included overseeing the day to day accounting operations, supervising the support staff, preparation and analysis of financial data including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, general ledger, accounts payable, billing, online banking, wires, ACH payments, payroll, etc. Upon graduation from the University of Utah, I accepted a position with Coopers & Lybrand (at that time a Big 8 firm). I left public accounting and accepted a position with a client in the banking industry. I worked in the banking industry, specifically Industrial Loan Banks in Utah for approximately 13 years. I also have 11 years of experience in Mortgage Banking and Land Development, HR, Accounting and Administration.
