NBCUniversal employee since 1989. I am part of the Advanced Technology Group and the Director of Advanced Content Production, currently responsible for investigating and developing UHD-HDR content production workflows. 2024 and 2025 were good years for Emmys. I was heavily involved in both: • NBCU - Implementation of HDR Static LUT, Single-Stream HDR/SDR Live TV Production • NBCU - Outstanding Technical Team Studio (Games of the XXXIII Olympiad) Over the past decade, as an "inventor", I've been issued 3 patents (several still pending). The Emmy listed above was specially around the design of a live-linear "single-master" UHD production which included High Dynamic Range(HDR)/Wide Color Gamut(WCG) conversion standards to SDR and objective color metric analysis tools for the NBCU Olympics and other sports events. More recently these same workflows have been used for delivery of Saturday Night Live in UHD/HDR and SDR. Responsibilities include gathering needs for future systems from operations and engineering teams across internal organizations, formulating them into a consistent vision and set of requirements, and communicating with them to key potential suppliers and standards groups. Previously, over 23 years, I had designed and supported file-based post production workflows for Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien/Jay Leno, and SyFy/USA promos in New York. I've implemented a bi-coastal audio media asset management system which allows the search and use of NBC/Stock Music and enterprise licensed sound effects.
