About CHRISTINE HERNANDEZ

Christine graduated from Troy University in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in education and Sports Medicine. She obtained a master’s degree in educational leadership at the University of South Alabama. Christine worked as a K-12 teacher in both private and public education in Mobile County between 1990 and 2005 and was selected as Teacher of the Year. She also obtained Nationally Board Certification in Alabama. In 2006 Christine received a Juris Doctorate from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. In 2007 she was admitted to the Alabama Bar and opened her own law firm. Christine represents clients in Federal Courts in the Southeast as well as local state courts and appellate courts in Alabama and Federal Circuits. Hernandez found success in the United States Supreme Court in Searcy v. Strange, the Alabama Marriage Equality Case which declared Alabama's marriage statute unconstitutional. Christine has had many high-profile cases featured in local and national media and documentaries. She is no stranger to controversy arguing the Constitutional Rights of her clients, in civil and criminal cases, including capital murder, appeals in wrongful convictions, compassionate release and in matters of judicial reform and abuse of power. She has argued for the rights of juveniles and for juvenile probation reform. In the area of education, Christine has been an advocate for the rights of special education students, championing the fight against bullying and discrimination in schools and in employment. Drawing from her years of teaching and coaching experience, Christine built her law firm by standing up for the rights of others and working to level the playing field while equalizing justice for her clients in and out of the courtroom.
