Christina Cameron

Ms. Cameron is a founding partner of Devaney Pate Morris & Cameron LLP. She represents public entities, businesses, nonprofits organizations and individuals assisting them with their legal matters and their dealings with governmental entities. She currently serves as the General Counsel to the San Diego Ethics Commission. She advises the cities of Del Mar, and Murrieta, California, as well as the San Diego Workforce Partnership and Third Avenue Village Association in Chula Vista. Ms. Cameron's litigation experience is focused on the areas of employment, CEQA, public contracting, and governmental ethics laws. Before obtaining her law degree, Ms. Cameron spent more than 19 years as a policy advisory to City of San Diego elected officials. She served on the staff of Mayor Maureen O'Connor, as director of community outreach and community affairs, and as Chief of Staff to former Councilmember Harry Mathis and Council President Scott Peters. Under Council President Peters, Ms. Cameron served as Committee Consultant to the Land Use & Housing, Strong Mayor Transition, and Rules Committees. She was the primary advisor to Council President Peters during San Diego’s transition from a City Manager to Strong Mayor/Strong Council form of government and on California Coastal Policy during Peters’ service on the California Coastal Commission from 2002 through 2005. Throughout her career, Ms. Cameron has advised elected officials on the promulgation of regulations related to elections and ballot propositions, open meetings requirements, governmental ethics, major land code updates and project approvals, and implementation of numerous bond-financed municipal infrastructure projects. In addition to her governmental service, Ms. Cameron was the Director of Public Relations for the San Diego Historical Society Specialties: Governmental Ethics; Community Relations; Local Government; General Civil Litigation.
