About Carmen Nicolaou
Carmen A. Nicolaou concentrates her practice on complex litigation, including matters involving construction accidents and defects, assault and sexual assault, product liability, bullying, and wrongful death. Her cases frequently involve claims of New York Labor Law violations, negligent supervision and hiring, the Dram Shop Act, negligent security, and general negligence. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Nicolaou handles employment law matters at both the state and federal levels. She advises businesses on compliance with employment regulations and defends against related claims, including allegations of discrimination. Ms. Nicolaou oversees cases from inception through motion practice, trial, and appeal. She takes a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to client counseling, with a strong emphasis on risk management and risk transfer strategies. Her dedication to advocacy extends beyond the courtroom. A proud member of the New York State PTA and former president of the Yonkers Council PTA, Ms. Nicolaou is an active and passionate advocate for children in the Yonkers Public Schools. Ms. Nicolaou graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from John Jay College in 1997 and earned her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law in 2000. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York, State of Connecticut, and before the United States Supreme Court, United States Second Circuit, and United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of New York.
