Brian Bergman

Mr. Bergman's practice focuses primarily on construction, environmental, land use/eminent domain, and general business litigation. He regularly represents public and private entities in multi-million dollar construction disputes. Brian has specific expertise in the prosecution and defense of construction claims involving construction defect, delay, disruption, acceleration, stop notices, performance bond actions, and claims under the California Public Contracting Code. Mr. Bergman also has a broad range of experience in environmental, land use and eminent domain litigation, including matters under CERCLA, OPA, CWA, CAA, CEQA, Proposition 65, eminent domain actions, and state nuisance and trespass actions. Mr. Bergman has represented clients on matters before the Environmental Protection Agency, South Coast Air Quality Management District, the California Air Resources Board, the Regional Water Quality Control Boards, the State Water Resources Control Board, and the Department of Toxic Substances Control. Mr. Bergman has co-authored the article "Defeating Class Certification" Los Angeles Daily Journal, Vol. 119 No. 246 (December 22, 2006). Mr. Bergman received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Law School in 2005. While in law school, Mr. Bergman was the Chair of the USC Hale Moot Court Honors Program and was also an extern for Central District Federal Magistrate Stephen Hillman. He is a member of numerous Bar Associations, and he is a a co-founder of the LCA's International Institute of Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law, and he is the chair of Mackrell International's environmental law section. Mr. Bergman has been named a "Rising Star" by the Super Lawyers Publication in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014.
