Brenda Lopez

Brenda Lopez is a Certified Family Law Specialist, who has represented family law clients in a variety of cases in San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and Imperial Counties. Ms. Lopez has successfully litigated a plethora of complex family law cases, touching upon both economic and non-economic issues. Ms. Lopez currently serves as a Board of Directors for the San Diego County Bar, after previously serving on the Family Law Section as Chair, Vice-Chair and Member at Large. She also currently serves as a Board of Directors for the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association Scholarship Fund. Ms. Lopez also serves as Co-Chair of the Law Student Outreach Committee of Lawyers Club of San Diego, after previously co-chairing its Gender Equity Committee and Community Services Committee. Ms. Lopez was the Vice President of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association in 2020/2021. Ms. Lopez was a panelist on National Business Institute's "Advanced Custody and Support Issues in California” in 2022 and has been a moderator for its judicial forum since 2020. Ms. Lopez, who is bilingual English-Spanish, earned her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Chicana/o Studies from San Diego State University. Ms. Lopez’s cultural, educational, and legal background, paired with her strong work ethic, have allowed her to achieve many favorable results on behalf of her clients. As a law student at Thomas Jefferson School of Law Ms. Lopez was placed on the Distinguished Honor Roll and also became a Certified Legal Intern, which permitted her to appear at several court proceedings concurrent with her studies, gaining invaluable litigation experience. Ms. Lopez attended law school part-time, while working full-time as a legal assistant for several civil litigation and Certified Family Law Specialist attorneys in San Diego. She also did pro bono legal work for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program’s domestic violence clinic.
