I have represented clients in disputes involving contracts, non-competes, non-solicits, employee mobility, sales representative and commission agreements, trademark, copyright, patent, ownership rights, and employment matters, and I often represent clients in bet-the-company lawsuits that threaten the survival and well-being of the company. CUSTOMIZED APPROACH TO COMPLEX CIVIL LITIGATION For those who are not regularly involved in litigation, the process can seem opaque, confusing, and complex. My job is to act as your guide and to steer you expertly through the process. In each case, I communicate early and often—by initially tailoring a case strategy specific to your objectives and the facts and law of the case; laying out what to expect and providing a detailed budget; and then keeping you apprised throughout the process. Because, at the end of the day, litigation often comes down to assessing the cost and burden of litigating versus the expected returns. Clients like that I take a proactive approach to working through that cost-benefit analysis with them and a proactive approach to resolving disputes. This often involves exploring early resolution without over-litigating. But, if early resolution is unsuccessful, clients also like that I have the litigation and trial skills to best position them to prevail. A large part of my practice is helping my clients protect these assets and prosecuting those that may take them. INSURANCE COVERAGE, DEFENSE, EXTRA-CONTRACTUAL & BAD FAITH LITIGATION I represent some of the leading insurance companies in handling first party and third-party claims in both commercial line and personal line matters. I regularly perform coverage work and defend lawsuits involving extra-contractual and bad faith claims. In addition, I regularly defend lawsuits in the following casualty claim areas: general liability/bodily injury, property, catastrophic injury, construction, civil rights and governmental liability, premises liability and auto (including trucking cases).
