Barton Slavin

Barton L. Slavin, Esq., was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1983, having graduated Brooklyn Law School with honors. During law school he was the President of the Trial Advocacy Society and the Winner of the 2nd Circuit Federal Appellate Advocacy Competition. He started his career with general practice firms and then worked at several AV Rated firms in Manhattan concentrating on commercial litigation, personal injury, corporate and real estate transactions as well as appellate practice. Upon his father’s retirement from serving as a Justice of the NYS Supreme Court, Kings County the firm of Slavin & Slavin was formed. Mr. Slavin has been involved in various Bar Associations, as follows: President of The Brooklyn Bar Association; Member and Acting-Chair of the Disciplinary Committee (Grievance Committee) of and for the 9th and 11th Judicial Districts, 2nd Department, for 8 years; Delegate to the NYS Bar Association for approximately 18 years; 2nd Department Committee Member to the NYSBA’s Nominating Committee for approximately 12 years and he has been Faculty Member of the NYSBA’s Young Lawyer’s Trial Academy at Cornell Law School for the last 5 years. He has conducted over 50 jury and non-jury trials and has argued approximately 30 cases before the 1st and 2nd Department Appellate Divisions. He been appointed as a Court Evaluator and Guardian Ad Litem in Guardianship and Estate matters by numerous Judges and Surrogates. His areas of concentration are litigation, personal injury, trusts and estates, corporate, general civil and tranactional Probate/Administration and Real Estate.
