Barry has significant in-house, private practice and general corporate experience. He excels in counseling on a wide array of business, regulatory, contractual, employment, and corporate governance matters, including evaluating compliance risks, managing claims, training and educating employees, and crafting business and workplace solutions to an array of complex challenges. Barry combines business acumen with expertise in a full range of laws impacting the workplace to provide effective solutions that promote business goals and strategies, while mitigating risks. He serves as a valued business partner and trusted adviser excelling at providing accessible counsel by establishing trust, ensuring open communication and leading teams effectively. Barry now serves as Senior Vice President & General Counsel to a defense contractor, providing senior strategic leadership, at TechSource, which is headquartered in Los Alamos, NM, with substantial operations in Aiken, SC, Albuquerque, NM, Amarillo, TX, and the DC Region. He earlier served in legal and human resources roles where he helped drive unprecedented growth, including over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. Barry previously was an employee benefits attorney at a national law firm where he advised Fortune 100 clients on day-to-day benefits and compliance matters. He has advised and trained clients on Affordable Care Act compliance, and he has achieved favorable resolutions from the DOL and IRS on wage and benefits matters. Barry also served as an attorney at an international law firm where he focused on employment and compliance matters. Among the significant matters on which Barry worked was advising a health care company in connection with a 4-year multifaceted federal investigation involving alleged Medicare fraud, resulting in favorable settlement and continuing Medicare compliance and practice in all 50 states. Barry earlier served as in-house counsel at the Pacific Exchange, a stock exchange based in San Francisco, CA, During his tenure, he successfully spearheaded a business interruption insurance claim that netted the company in excess of $500,000.
