I am presently licensed and handling cases throughout Indiana and Illinois. My background in science, psychology, health law, and elder law uniquely enables me to handle cases involving clients who have suffered from trauma, complex medical issues and/or the elderly. I understand the issues faced by people who are injured in facilities where they live, places where they receive education, where they are coached, or at the hands of a healthcare professional. I often speak to groups of attorneys, victim advocates, and survivors of abuse to discuss the legal options available to recover compensation after abuse. I have extensive experience investigating potential persons or businesses to be held accountable, sources of recovery available and application of Indiana and Illinois laws, like the Indiana Medical Malpractice Act, that may have important implications on a potential case. My clients range in age from children to the elderly. While I am certainly able to provide additional insight into issues uniquely experienced by my female clients, I also have extensive experience representing male survivors of abuse as well. I have personally handled sexual abuse and assault cases that arose in churches, residential care facilities, daycares, schools, and in organized sports. I am a volunteer guardian for the Indianapolis Center for At Risk Elders and the Vice Chair of the Young Lawyer’s Council of the National Crime Victims Bar Association. Since 2014, I have recovered over $70 million in settlements on behalf of my clients, including the following: $5.75 million settlement for a birth injury victim who suffers from cerebral palsy as a result of physician and hospital negligence. $3.5 million settlement on behalf of my client who was voluntarily admitted to a Chicago psychiatric hospital due to suicidal ideations and allowed access to hazardous cleaning chemicals which he ingested causing catastrophic and severe esophageal injuries. $950,000 settlement on behalf of a Chicago nursing home resident who suffered a fall and femur fracture and the development and deterioration of pressure sores. $835,000 settlement for a nursing home resident who suffered a severe sacral pressure sore due to the negligence of two separate nursing facilities. $460,000 settlement for the adult child of a nursing home rape victim.
