Ashley Benedik

Ashley Stone Benedik is a Panama City native. She graduated from Mosley High School in 1986, Florida State University in 1989 and Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1992. After graduating and being admitted to the Louisiana Bar she worked in Louisiana for a short period of time handling workers compensation and personal injury cases. After passing the Florida Bar in 1993, she then moved back to the Panhandle and started her career as a Prosecutor for the State Attorney’s office. During this tenure, Ms. Benedik tried over 100 cases in front of a jury. The type of cases she handled and tried in front of a jury helped her become more knowledgeable in how the complete system works. After leaving the State Attorneys Office Ms. Benedik spent 20 years in private practice handling criminal defense cases, expungements, domestic violence hearings, juvenile cases and various other matters. She now is now with Legal Services of North Florida with the Eviction Prevention Program. Specialties: 33 years experience (12 as a former prosecutor) 14th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission 2008-2011. A defense attorney in the Bay County Boot Camp trial shown on Court TV. As a defense attorney she handled all types of offenses and involving any misdemeanor or criminal traffic matter, including felony but not limited to: • DUI/DWLSR • Aggravated Battery or Sexual Battery • Stalking • Murder • Weapons/Firearm offenses • Possession or Sale of Controlled Substances • Robbery or Burglary • Theft She also handled both sides of Domestic Violence injunction cases. In her tenure as an Assistant State Attorney she exclusively handled domestic violence and crimes against children cases for several years. She also participated in domestic violence training to law enforcement officers and appeared in a training video.
