About Arthur Calderón
Arthur Calderón stumbled into trial work and refers to himself as “the accidental trial lawyer.” In the early days of his practice, he represented local businesses and represented counties and municipalities in civil cases, never seeing the inside of a courtroom. But in 2014, a local circuit court judge asked him to step into a case as appointed counsel on a criminal case. After seeing the constant injustice that plagues the justice, he discovered his passion for telling his clients’ story and leveling the playing field, especially in the courtroom. Two years later, in 2017, Arthur launched Calderón Law, which focuses on criminal defense and personal injury. Over the years, Arthur has worked tirelessly to be the best advocate possible for his clients. In 2019, he attended the National Criminal Defense College’s Trial Practice Institute in Bristol, Rhode Island, which is the nation’s premiere training program for criminal defense lawyers. He is a regular presenter at Mississippi College School of Law, where he presents lectures on different aspects of trial practice and assists the Moot Court Board with organizing and coordinating trial advocacy workshops. He is also a coach for MC Law’s John L. Costello Criminal Trial Competition Team, which won the national championship in 2025.
