About Areva Martin
I’m a Harvard-trained civil rights attorney, multi-award-winning TV and radio host, producer, and bestselling author with a passion for using media to drive social change. Known as “America’s Advocate,” I leverage my legal expertise and lived experience to inform, engage, and mobilize audiences around issues of race, gender, justice, and leadership. My on-air credits include cohosting CBS’s Face the Truth, appearing on The Doctors, and regular contributions to CNN, Good Morning America, ABC Live, and Extra. I’m also the creator and host of The Special Report, a Telly and Anthem award-winning digital series that goes beyond headlines to expose injustice and elevate truth. In addition to my media work, I’m the Founder and President of Special Needs Network, California’s leading autism advocacy organization, and Managing Partner of Martin & Martin, LLP, where I represent clients in high-profile civil rights and discrimination cases. A frequent keynote speaker and media commentator, I also write for CNN.com, Essence, and Ebony, and I’m currently working on a new book focused on the racial wealth gap and the case for reparations.
