Ann Qushair

Ms. Qushair has successfully served employers as advisor, litigator, and appellate counsel throughout most of her 25-year career, at local boutiques, national firms, and international, full-service firms. She has represented a diverse client base, from small business owners to Fortune 100 companies, across numerous industries, including food and hospitality, health care, manufacturing, retail, payroll, staffing, and telecommunications. She has defended single plaintiff cases involving the gamut of employment law claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation/whistleblowing, constructive discharge, wrongful termination, and related business torts. Her knowledge is especially deep in the area of wage and hour law and she has had significant experience defending wage and hour multi-party/class action/PAGA cases at both the trial and appellate court levels. As advisor, she also has significant experience providing daily counsel to employers, drafting agreements and workplace policies, handling pre-litigation and administrative disputes, and performing wage and hour audits. As an appellate attorney, Ms. Qushair has handled or provided substantial advice and counsel on over 50 writs and appeals. She has represented businesses before the California Courts of Appeal, the California Supreme Court, and the Ninth Circuit. While at Seyfarth Shaw LLP, Ms. Qushair became the “go-to” attorney for appellate assistance for the firm’s California offices, assisting colleagues in the Labor and Employment, Litigation, and Intellectual Property Departments. She also gave in-house seminars on writs and appeals and regularly updated her colleagues on developments in appellate practice and procedure.
