Andrea Jones

Andrea’s practice focuses on employment law matters involving claims of sexual harassment, sex discrimination, age discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination under the Fair Employment Housing Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. She also specializes in claims involving missed meal/rest periods, misclassification, failure to pay overtime, failure to furnish accurate wage statements, and the Private Attorney General Act. Andrea is licensed to practice law in the states of California and Nevada. In addition to litigating, Andrea regularly advises employers on employee relations issues, Labor Code compliance, hiring practices, discipline and discharge, and leaves of absence. Her clients are comprised of California, national, and international business operating in a wide range of industries, including LEED-certified structural and civil engineering, specialized technology product development, online marketing, and eco-friendly/sustainable product manufacturing. Currently a board member of the Native American Lawyers Association, Andrea remains actively involved within the community. She regularly volunteers as a judge for University of San Diego (USD) School of Law moot court and mock trial competitions; and is a member of Lawyers Club of San Diego. While attending the USD School of Law, Andrea co-founded the Health Law Society, served as a published member of the Journal of Climate and Energy Law, and participated in multiple moot court competitions. Her article “Embracing the Green Dragon: Protecting U.S. Intellectual Property Rights for Green Technology in China” was published in Ralph H. Folsom’s International Business Transactions Practitioners’ Treatise 2d Ed. Prior to law school, Andrea completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Redlands where she was a member of the 2005 NCAA Women’s Basketball Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.
