About Alyson Brown
My practice is a blend of employment law counseling, transactions and litigation. With more than 30 years’ experience, I am Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, representing clients in a broad range of industries, including health care, financial services, high-tech, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, energy and nonprofit organizations. My practice includes representation of companies and senior executives in a wide range of employment matters. In addition, I regularly work with clients regarding trade secrets, confidential information and covenants not to compete. I also assist clients with high-risk scenarios, including termination of senior executives, and navigating fiduciary duty and departing employee concerns. I have assisted many clients with regulatory investigations by such agencies as the DOL, EEOC, OSHA and TWC. I regularly litigate claims involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, discrimination, harassment, retaliation and misappropriation of confidential information. I have experience with all state and federal employment statutes and their accompanying regulations. I am frequently retained by companies to conduct independent investigations regarding discrimination and harassment claims, misappropriation, employee theft, and conflict of interest/corporate governance concerns. Although I have experience trying cases in both state and federal courts, I also have experience representing clients in arbitrations (including AAA, JAMS and FINRA) and administrative proceedings with state and federal agencies. I also serve as an Arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association for employment disputes and actively work as a mediator. I have been named one of D Magazine‘s Best Lawyers in Dallas since 2019, and have been annually recognized by The Best Lawyers in America since 2020. I have been selected to the Texas Super Lawyers list, a Thomson Reuters service, for Employment and Labor Law every year since 2012, and in 2018 was named to the Top Women Attorneys in Texas by Super Lawyers. In 2021, I was named one of Super Lawyers’ Top 50 women lawyers in Texas and one of the Top 100 attorneys in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. That same year, D CEO selected me for its annual Dallas 500 publication, a compilation of Dallas’ top business leaders.
