With over thirty-five (35) years experience representing public employees at all levels of local government, Alison is committed to personalized service and effective advocacy. Alison aggressively defends individual employees in complex disciplinary actions, internal administrative hearings, civil and criminal cases. Alison also represents public sector labor organizations by negotiating, administering, and enforcing collective bargaining agreements. Over the course of her career, Alison has handled a multitude of cutting-edge legal issues. As both plaintiff and defense counsel, Alison has successfully litigated cases in both federal and state courts involving claims for local agency public agency employees, including the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, as well as the various federal and state statutes governing due process, civil rights, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and employee privacy. Alison enthusiastically shares her knowledge and expertise by teaching courses approved by the California Commission for Peace Officer Standards and Training at various criminal justice academies and conferences, including the San Jose State University Administration of Justice Bureau, the Alameda County Sheriff's Regional Training Center, the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Academy, as well as the Peace Officers Research Association of California.
