About Alicia Kinsman
I obtained my JD from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2010. I currently have a solo legal practice in Bridgeport, CT and provide technical support and training with the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI). Since 2010 I have been providing direct legal representation in immigration matters to vulnerable immigrants and their families, focusing a large part of my practice on serving and empowering foreign-born victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and other serious crimes. In addition to direct legal service, I also provide training and support on issues related to immigration and human trafficking, to medical professionals, law enforcement personnel, social service providers, and others across the state. I am a POST certified law enforcement instructor in Connecticut, in the areas of Immigration Law and Human Trafficking, as well as an appointed member of the Trafficking in Persons Council and the CT Bar Association’s Anti Human Trafficking committee. In 2013 I was awarded an FBI Field Directors Award and in 2018, the Connecticut Immigrant and Refugee Coalition presented me with the Myra Oliver Award for my work with immigrants and refugees.
