Alan Ribakoff

In 2000 Alan Ribakoff became a full-time neutral, joining the American Arbitration Association as a member of the Commercial and Employment panels. Since that time, he has resolved numerous employment, business and commercial disputes, including complex multiparty disputes. He started his legal career in 1967 at Monteleone & McRory, becoming a partner in 1970; he worked extensively on mergers and acquisitions, public stock offerings, internal management and stockholder disputes, complex contract, fraud and breach of trust, insurance and surety bond matters. In 1981 Mr. Ribakoff joined the firm of Allred, Maroko, Goldberg and Ribakoff, where he was the partner in charge of business litigation matters. He expanded his areas of practice to encompass bankruptcy and regulatory issues, as well as disputes involving fiduciary duties, professional malpractice, unfair competition and all aspects of employment law including, wrongful termination, discrimination, defamation, and invasion of privacy. Beginning in 1992, Mr. Ribakoff served as Vice-President and in-house General Counsel of a group of corporations, publishing numerous magazines which were distributed worldwide. He oversaw all legal and regulatory issues, supervised an extensive international trademark licensing program, and handled legal issues involving the creation and operation of a franchise distribution system. As a partner in Masters and Ribakoff he continued to perform his previous in house duties as outside General Counsel. In 2000, he began to focus on developing a neutral practice, in which he has exclusively engaged in since 2000. Mr. Ribakoff has a JD from Loyola University (1966) and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri (1961). He has co-authored “Essential Principals of Skillful Mediation” and “Sexual Harassment – What You Can’t Afford Not to Know” and is quoted in the Wall Street Journal on legal matters.
