Aisha Adam

Aisha Shelton Adam is passionate about helping companies create and maintain healthy workplaces. Ms. Adam conducts impartial workplace investigations on behalf of public and private sector employers. She has investigated claims involving multiple respondents, anonymous complainants, and high-level executives in a range of issues from discrimination, sexual misconduct, whistleblower retaliation, harassment, and abusive conduct to implicit/subtle bias. Ms. Adam also is an experienced investigator in Title IX sexual misconduct claims. She has investigated cases involving student-on-student misconduct, teacher-on-student misconduct, and intoxication and the ability to consent. Ms. Adam also has experience questioning parties using trauma-informed techniques. Her other areas of expertise include preventing workplace harassment through customized employee and supervisor training, preparing employee handbooks, and counseling. Additionally, Ms. Adam has litigated claims for wrongful termination, misappropriation of trade secrets, discrimination, sexual harassment, embezzlement, wage theft, and gender violence. Her business litigation experience includes handling contract disputes, fraud, fiduciary duty, defamation, and property claims. In 2012, Ms. Adam completed the prestigious Trial Advocacy Program (“TAP”) offered through the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and later tried cases as a pro bono prosecutor. In 2016, Ms. Adam second-chaired the jury trial of the famed creator of hot yoga against claims for sexual harassment made by former in-house counsel. During the case, she navigated intense media coverage, including a nationally televised three-part CNN feature. Ms. Adam holds Certificates from the Association of Workplace Investigators ("AWI-CH"), and T9 Mastered for Title IX investigations involving sexual harassment and sexual assault on college campuses.
