Adam Hurwitz

Known for my tenacity, expertise and results as an experienced personal injury lawyer, I take pride in serving as an advocate for individuals who have been wrongfully injured and their families. Backed by over 35 years of experience in personal injury law – spending several of which as a senior partner in my own firm and the litigation manager of a highly respected general negligence practice – I concentrate my legal practice in construction accidents, premises accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and civil right violations. I represent clients before the New York State Courts and the Federal District Courts of New York for the Southern and Eastern Districts, and strive to always provide the personal attention and care individuals deserve when they’re faced with high profile and catastrophic injury cases. Since joining The Perecman Firm, P.L.L.C. in the summer of 2009, I have obtained millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts in cases ranging from construction accidents, defective products, improper highway design, and truck accidents, among others. A few recent successes include: • A $4,000,000 settlement for a union laborer who sustained back injuries from a fall from a defective scaffold; • A $3,650,000 settlement for a union ironworker who sustained head injuries after being struck by falling debris in an elevator shaft; • A $3,250,000 settlement for a carpenter who sustained injuries to his hand from a defective table saw; • A $2,100,000 settlement for a carpenter who sustained back injuries from a fall from a ladder; and • A $2,000,000 settlement for a union carpenter who sustained an elbow injury from a fall from a ladder; I’ve been awarded the New York Law Journal's "Top Verdicts in New York" and named to the New York Super Lawyers list from 2019-2021, and to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Civil Plaintiff list. In addition to handling caseloads, I am a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and have lectured for the New York State Bar Association on basic trial practice, and served as its chair in the association’s program on Practical Skills: Civil Practice – The Trial. Outside of my legal practice, I am a devoted husband and father. My greatest pleasure is spending time with my wife Susie and our three grown children, Andie, Brian and Sean. I also enjoy traveling, hiking, attending theater and sporting events, and spending time in the ocean and at the beach.
