About Debra Edmondson
Debra started the Edmondson Law Firm in 2005. The Firm’s main areas of focus include real estate law, landlord-tenant, administrative law, business and employment law and litigation. The Edmondson Law Firm is available to advise small to medium-size cities with their various municipal needs. The Firm also works with non-profit organizations. Debra is an experienced corporate attorney, having served as in-house counsel for a number of companies. She was formerly in house counsel with an oil and gas company and has a strong working knowledge of oil and gas leasing, contracts and related issues. Debra has an extensive record of public service. She has been elected to both the Fairview (Collin County) Town Council (early 1990s) and the City of Southlake City Council (1998 -2000). She also served two terms on Southlake’s Planning and Zoning Commission. Because of this experience, she is well qualified to represent parties who are trying to work through a legal dispute with a municipality. Her experience includes working on various municipal issues from both sides of the podium, land use planning, environmental regulation, easements, redevelopment, eminent domain and tax incentives. She has also represented clients before public agencies, both local and state. Debra served as the president of the board of directors for the Bob Jones Nature Center, a 700 acre nature preserve located in the City of Southlake between 2009 and 2019. In 2012, she negotiated a contract with the City of Southlake which turned over the management of the day to day operations of the Nature Center to the board of directors. The board raised over $1,000,000 in private funding to support the Nature Center and grow its programs. The board of directors made a decision to resign from active management of the Nature Center in February 2019. Debra has also been president of the Tuscan Ridge Homeowners Assn Board of Directors since 2008.
