Case received a verdict of almost $20 million dollars after a 7 week trial. Award included over $5 million dollars for mental anguish and pain and suffering. One of first verdicts including these damages in a non-physical injury case. Verdict was the cover story in June 6, 2001 "MEDICAL ECONOMICS" magazine. Coverage in Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Washington Post. Dallas Morning News published a large story about the case and client. Obtained $7 million dollar settlement on behalf of injured worker at chemical plant. Has obtained multiple multi-million dollar settlements for injured oil field workers. Mr. Williams experience as a defense lawyer representing companies in serious litigation resulted in his having tried or handled almost every kind of personal injury and commercial litigation case which benefits his personal injury clients. Mr. Williams gained extensive experience in the oil & gas industry having represented Halliburton, Mobil, Chevron, Pennzoil and Western Atlas along with a number of large and small independent producers and wildcatters such as Newfield Exploration and XTO Energy Inc. Admiralty lawyer with experience in the maritime industry having represented the West of England, U. K ., P. & I. clubs along with various maritime underwriters at Lloyd' s of London. Mr. Williams faced his toughest battle in 2008 when he was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer and underwent a "Whipple" operation at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Following surgery Mr. Williams returned to practice and has enjoyed his life as a lawyer more than ever. Mr. Williams is not only cancer free but he and his wife spend time counseling other cancer victims and their families.
