I do not take my own cases. Rather, for nearly 20 years, I have worked with solo practitioners and small firms to help them meet their legal research and writing needs. I also consult with attorneys to help them analyze case facts, ideas, theories, legal strategies, cost-benefit/case valuation considerations, and supplement these with research, discovery, review of documents, and whatever else it takes to make sure your client’s legal needs are met. I have been exposed to an ever-growing variety of legal matters, including products liability cases involving death, catastrophic injury, and property loss (from defective medical devices and pharmaceutical products, to automotive defects, rollovers, roof crush, detreads, etc.), medical malpractice, employment law, business and contract, ERISA, personal injury claims (primarily for plaintiffs), constitutional/due process challenges, and intellectual property. I have (so far) twice been involved in making new law in Texas through my appellate work. See, T.L. v. Cook Children’s Hospital, 607 S.W.3d 9 (Tex. App.—Fort Worth 2020, rev. denied), certiorari denied, Cook Children’s Medical Center v. T.L., 2021 WL 78187 (2021) (an attorney of record; case of first impression); Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., et al v. Elsey, et al, 2016 WL 4705616 (Tex. App.–Houston [14th Dist.] 2016, no pet. hist.) (an attorney of record; case of first impression). I have been involved in a number of other appeals as well. My writing experience includes, inter alia: memoranda; discovery; Motions for Summary Judgment (state and federal court), responses, replies; Motions to Compel; Responses to Motions to Compel Arbitration; and appeals (state and federal and the Texas Supreme Court); Choice of Law Motions (in three different jurisdictions so far); Motions and appeals related to jurisdiction and venue in both state and federal courts; and appeals concerning a variety of procedural and subject matters.
