About Paul Jones
Paul Jones is a Partner and Chair of Tax Services at Jones Pyatt Law, LLC. Paul focuses his practice on real estate tax appeals, exemptions and incentives in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. He primarily represents developers and owners of commercial real estate in the Midwest. He has a strong track record of proven results in real estate tax litigation and in obtaining favorable results for clients in settlement. He also has served as lead counsel on several New Markets Tax Credit transactions and routinely represents clients in connection with tax credit financing, incentive programs and property tax abatements. In Indiana, Paul represents clients before county assessors, county property tax assessment boards of appeal (PTABOAs), the Indiana Board of Tax Review, the Indiana Tax Court and the Indiana Supreme Court. In Ohio, Paul represents clients before county auditors, county boards of revision (BORs), the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, Ohio Appeals Courts, and the Ohio Supreme Court. In Michigan, Paul handles appeals before the Michigan Tax Tribunal. Paul is admitted to practice law in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. Paul frequently speaks at conferences and seminars about property tax matters, community and economic development, and tax incentives. Paul was previously the sole owner of Paul Jones Law, LLC and prior to that, he was an equity partner with Ice Miller LLP. Paul currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Kids in Crisis - Intervention Team (KIC-IT), which provides services to at risk youth, teens and families. His pro bono efforts focus on assisting nonprofits and community development corporations with corporate governance and tax matters. Paul received his bachelor of science in public affairs, with distinction, from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1998. He earned his juris doctorate from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, graduating magna cum laude in 2001.
