About Virginia McGarrity
A noted employee benefits lawyer, author, and speaker, Virginia represents Fortune 500 companies and other public and private entities, including those in the hospitality, healthcare, and higher education sectors, throughout the United States. In her practice, she counsels clients on complex benefits matters involving retirement plans, welfare plans, and other employee benefit programs. She also plays a key role in M&A transactions, providing sophisticated benefits advice during negotiations as well as post-closing integration. Virginia regularly represents clients before the IRS, DOL, PBGC, and other various government agencies. Virginia is also Chair of Robinson+Cole's DE+I Committee, collaborating with Firm management to develop and implement diversity strategy while supporting ongoing initiatives across all Firm offices. Virginia is on the board of The Connecticut Forum, an organization that presents live, unscripted conversations among renowned experts and celebrities to inform, challenge, entertain, and inspire communities. She is the Past President of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association and has received multiple awards and honors in recognition of her outstanding contributions to DE+I in the legal profession and her pro bono work.
