Raed Gonzalez serves as Chairman of Gonzalez Olivieri LLC, bringing over 25 years of experience to the field of Immigration Law. Born in Puerto Rico, Mr. Gonzalez pursued a robust legal education, earning his B.A. Cum Laude in 1992 and his J.D. Cum Laude in 1996 from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. During his studies, he served as associate editor of the school’s law review and furthered his legal knowledge by studying comparative constitutional law at the University of Barcelona in Spain in 1995, where he received instruction from U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. He later obtained his L.L.M. in Health Law from the University of Houston Law Center in 1998.
Mr. Gonzalez is eligible to practice in the Southern District of Texas Federal Courts, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 9th, and 11th U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, and the Supreme Court of the United States. His extensive career includes winning 12 Certiorari Petitions before the Supreme Court of the United States, with three of these decisions influencing immigration law nationwide, alongside numerous precedential decisions before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. His contributions to the legal community have been widely recognized, including receiving the Warrior Advocate Award from the State Bar of Texas in 2023 for his work in immigration law. He has been consistently named a Top Lawyer by Texas Magazine, Texas Monthly Magazine, Houston Magazine, and Houstonia Magazine since 2012 or 2014, and has been selected as a Super Lawyer by Reuters Super Lawyer Organization since 2012. Mr. Gonzalez also holds an AVOO rating of excellence, received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016 from the Texas Lawyer Magazine, and has been recognized as a Best Lawyer by U.S. News Magazine since 2019.
