About Brent Mayr
Criminal cases are won by lawyers who have stood in that room — and won. I am a board-certified criminal defense attorney and the founder of Mayr Law in Houston, Texas. My practice handles complex criminal matters in federal and state court: white collar investigations, federal drug conspiracies, public corruption, pre-indictment representation, and serious state cases where the stakes are too high to accept anything less than exceptional defense. Before entering private practice, I served as a law clerk for Judge Barbara Hervey of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, and as an Assistant District Attorney in the Harris County District Attorney's Office. Understanding how the government builds its case — from the inside — is not something I read about. It is something I did. I am past president of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association and currently serve as Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. I am a faculty member of the Harvard Law School Trial Advocacy Workshop, where I teach cross-examination of cooperating witnesses. I am admitted to practice in the Southern, Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Texas, the District of Columbia, the Eastern District of New York, the Southern District of Ohio, the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. My clients are executives, public figures, professionals, and individuals who find themselves facing the worst situation of their lives.
