About Deron Smallcomb
Pursuing his childhood dream of becoming a lawyer, Deron earned his Business degree from CalPoly San Luis Obispo before enrolling in a JD/MBA program at Santa Clara University and Oxford University. After briefly participating in the dot-com boom, he completed his MBA in 2002 and later obtained his law degree from Empire Law School in 2005. A personal experience - navigating the fiancé visa process while bringing his wife to the US from Eastern Europe - inspired him to establish Modern Law Group. Since 2009, under his leadership, the firm has grown to seven offices across the United States, becoming a leading immigration law practice with over 10,000 family-based immigration approvals and a remarkable 99%+ success rate. Currently residing in Dallas with his wife and two children, Deron is licensed to practice in California (2012) and Texas (2021), with authority to handle immigration cases nationwide. He authored the best-selling book "Securing America's Future: A Blueprint for 21st Century Immigration Reform" and has received numerous professional accolades, including multiple Lawyers of Distinction Excellence Awards (2020-2024) and AVVO's Clients Choice Award (2017, 2019).
