About Anne Rice

Anne Rice is the founding principal of Rice Law Office in Laconia, New Hampshire, where she focuses her practice on employment law, including worker's compensation and social security, discrimination, disability and plaintiff's injury. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences and the Wharton Business School, Anne recieved her JD from the University of Connecticut in 1997 where she spent time clerking for the Honorable Douglass Levine of the Connecticut Superior Court in Hartford, Connecticut. Anne is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law and Workers' Compensation Sections, American Trial Lawyers Association, New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association, Belknap County Bar Association, and National and New Hampshire Chapter of National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA). The majority of Anne's practice focuses on plaintiff's employment litigation, including workers' compensation, social security, discrimination, wrongful termination, and employment contract disputes. In addition to her plaintiff trial practice, Anne provides counsel for individuals in all aspects of employment law, including contracts and severance negotiations as well as issues of accommodation. Anne’s focus on cross over work between injury, workers’ compensation and employment law allows her to offer counsel and representation in complex disability, injury and termination cases involving coordination and election of multiple employment rights and benefits. Anne helps disabled and terminated workers assess, evaluate and coordinate available benefits and rights that may be available to them in order to maximize coverage, speed recovery and minimize the impact of loss. These analyses include considerations of the wide range of applicable state and federal employment, discrimination and disability laws, as well as FMLA, workers’ compensation, SSDI, private disability insurance, collective bargaining agreements, pension plans, NH retirement, contracts and employer benefits. She is also a frequent speaker on issues of employment law, workers' compensation and harassment and is trained as a mediator and arbitrator by the New Hampshire Judicial Branch and the AAA. Anne serves as a mediator for both the New Hampshire Human Rights Commission and the New Hampshire Judicial Branch.
