I help businesses successfully resolve legal disputes. This work involves negotiations, litigation strategy, court hearing, and trials and appeals. I have 15+ years of experience representing large and small businesses in high-stakes disputes in courts around the country. Business litigation. I handle contract disputes, covenants not to compete and trade secrets, business torts, and shareholder and corporate-governance issues.Antitrust litigation. I handle antitrust cases on behalf of large corporate plaintiffs and defendants in cases alleging billions of dollars of damages. The plaintiff-side work has resulted in more than $500 million of recoveries to date. I also represent defendants in antitrust litigation.Real estate litigation. I represent owners and developers in commercial real estate litigation, including disputes involving some of the largest deals in the region. In 2024, I was named the "Lawyer of the Year" for real estate litigation in Nashville by the rankings guide Best Lawyers in America. My clients have spanned many industries, including manufacturing, real-estate development, insurance, healthcare, chemicals, education, distribution and sales, financial services, technology, private equity and finance, food and beverage, and startups. I served a 4+ year term as the Congressional District 5 Member on the Tennessee State Board of Education. After college, I taught 6th grade math in New York City. For 10+ years, I was a volunteer board member for Intrepid College Prep, a 5-12 public charter school in Antioch, including 6 years as board chair.
