About Reggie Keaton

I have over forty years of experience in civil litigation. My practice includes construction law and business and commercial litigation. My construction litigation experience includes the representation of management and operating contractors, general contractors, prime contractors, subcontractors, owners, sureties, and design professionals, including architect and engineer firms. My representation in the construction industry has covered a wide range of projects including airport improvements, Department of Energy demolition projects, and various other residential, municipal, commercial, institutional, governmental, and industrial construction projects. My litigation experience also includes products liability, ERISA employee welfare benefit plans, adoptions, nursing home/ long term care facility liability, intellectual property, civil rights, discrimination, contract disputes, and tort/ personal injury. My litigation experience has been in both state and federal courts and includes complex litigation matters. I am a Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator. I have served as an arbitrator. I graduated with High Honors and received Order of the Coif at the University of Tennessee School of Law. The focus of my undergraduate studies at Carson-Newman University was accounting, and I was awarded the Outstanding Graduate in Business Administration and Economics. I have served as President of the Knoxville Bar Association, Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court, and Knoxville Barristers. I am a fellow of the Knoxville Bar Foundation and have served as Chair of its Board of Directors. I am a fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation. I served as a member of the Special Committee on Lien Law of the Tennessee Bar Association. This committee drafted legislation to improve Tennessee's Mechanics and Materialmans' lien law.
