Alan Matthews

I am an associate attorney at Russell, Oliver & Stephens and my professional interests include mediation, negotiation, all things employment law, and elder law. Prior to joining Russell, Oliver & Stephens, I worked as an associate attorney where I played an integral role in prosecuting and defending Fair Labor Standards Act collective and Rule 23 class action cases for unpaid wages in numerous federal courts across the United States. Additionally, I researched and drafted motions and other pleadings for all aspects of civil litigation with a focus on both the plaintiff and defense for a variety of labor and employment law claims under the FLSA, ADEA, ADA, Title VII, and various state laws. Furthermore, I have represented a diverse group of clients in all stages of litigation, ranging from claims investigation, all phases of discovery, motion practice, mediation and settlement negotiation, arbitration, pretrial proceedings, trial, and appeal. Having prior experience in various business law matters, my expertise includes business formation, contract drafting, corporate compliance, and risk management. In my spare time, I enjoy live music, comedy, reading, exercise, traveling, board games, learning new things, and spending time with family.
