Richard Scrugham

With my focus on being the absolute best advocate possible for my clients, I truly care about the people I serve and make it a priority to provide them with timely, effective and efficient legal representation and advice. I practice in the areas of small business law (including contracts and business formation and sales), estate planning (wills, trusts, powers of attorney), estate litigation (will contests and estate claims), probate administration, conservatorships, and real estate law. I belong to the Knoxville and Tennessee bar associations and am active in the Tennessee Veterans Business Association and the Farragut/West Knoxville Chamber of Commerce. I have lived in Knoxville for most of my life, graduated from Duke University in 1993 and received a J.D. from the University of Tennessee in 2000. The third generation of my family to serve on active duty in the military, I was a squadron intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Eisenhower. Outside of the office, my passions are my family, my two miniature schnauzers, and volunteering. My wife and I have three sons, and we enjoy hiking and camping together. I am a past leader in Trail Life USA, a Christian outdoor adventure program for boys. I was also a past board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee, the local branch of the nation’s largest youth mentoring organization.
