Professional biographies are important--and really boring. You can read mine in several places, including on my LinkedIn page. But what would really help you know me better? Probably that I am truly interested in improving the quality of a person's life, including the lives of my clients and colleagues, in two main areas: First, as an attorney-- When a person has been wrongfully injured, the quality of their life can take a significant hit. And even the process of making the claim the against an auto insurance company can be miserable--and sometimes disastrous. During my 30 years as a lawyer, I have represented over 1,500 injured insurance claimants, including several million dollar cases. I have seen how insurance companies try to use their hundreds of years of experience and billions of dollars in resources to the disadvantage of injured claimants. I have focused my legal career on teaching those claimants what to expect, and what their options are. I have created self-help and educational materials, including books and forms, so they can decide whether they even need a lawyer for their claim. If they decide they need help, I work with my clients to successfully take on the insurance company, and regain some of the quality of life that was taken from them. Second, as a runner-- I've also become increasingly interested in helping improve our quality of life in another area--health and wellness. I’ve observed that professionals face significant challenges to staying physically and emotionally well in our increasingly demanding world. Several years ago, I started my own serious pursuit of better "quality" in this part of life (exercise, nutrition, meditation, etc.), and am sharing some of that journey toward wellness on Fine Life, at www.davismiles.com/finelife.
