Kent Barker

Twenty five years of trial experience in New Hampshire Courts has been an exciting and interesting ride. Each case is a novel and each client, I would like to think, has become a friend. I have defended criminal cases that range from multiple Murder charges to Speeding tickets and have done each with the same fervor. My case list includes substantial personal injury settlements (modesty prevents me from posting dollar figures) and civil jury trials that included twists and turns that the best Hollywood screenwriter could never cook up. Family law matters that required the most patience and empathy are among those that I am most proud of even if they will go forever unrecognized by all but my clients. The current stage of my career is solidly in its most productive phase. I have enough experience to know how to approach the cases I take and enough discretion to take only the cases that I should. I value working with other experienced lawyers who enjoy their vocation and have learned how to do the job and also live a balanced life. In retrospect, I enjoyed being a sole practitioner and a leader of my own small firm, but the value of having experienced colleagues to share ideas with can not be underestimated. The goal is to work for another 20 years or so representing the interests of those who need it and who deserve my best effort. I look forward to this each day and am grateful for the opportunity.
